Servings 1 small bowl of spread

Ingredients

230g boneless cooked Smoked Mackerel Fillets skin removed (approximately 3 whole fillets)
180g Cream Cheese
1 Tablespoon finely chopped fresh Dill (Plus a little extra to garnish)
The juice of a Lemon
Freshly ground pepper
Extra Lemon Wedges to garnish

This is the easiest thing to make and is great with crackers as a spread/dip with drinks or spread on thick slices of crusty bread.  If you don’t have a food processor or stick blender, you could try mashing everything together with a fork or wooden spoon.

You can often find smoked mackerel in the supermarket near the smoked salmon or on the fish counter.

  1. Put all of the ingredients into a food processor and blend together until smooth.  (You could put everything into bowl and use a stick blender to combine them instead).
  2. Add 1-2 Tablespoons of water and blend again to get to a slightly softer consistency. Put the spread in a small serving bowl and top with another grind of pepper, some more chopped dill and a wedge of lemon.
